- 2/3 cup vegetable shortening
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 ts vanilla extract
- 1 tbs water
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 ts salt
- 1/4 ts baking soda
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Mix the vegetable shortening and sugar in a large bowl. Use an electric mixer. Once the mass is smooth, add the eggs to the mix, along with the vanilla extract and water.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir it until it becomes creamy. Now mix at low speed and add in chocolate chips.
Dough up your ungreased baking sheet and make small cookies using your hands.
Put everything in preheated oven. The optimal baking time is 7 to 9 minutes, but it is best to use your eyes to see when the cookies are ready.
